MCC United Way Campaign Kicks Off March 6

The 2017 Monroe Community College United Way campaign begins Monday, March 6! Check your e-mail for your chance to make your pledge to the annual campaign.

As our community's college, MCC recognizes the role it plays in changing the lives of students in our region. In much the same way, the United Way of Greater Rochester works to change the lives of many of our relatives, neighbors and friends who live in our community.

In just the last year, the United Way’s Community Fund educated 800 new parents on how to be their babies best teacher, helped 4,700 students succeed with after school, summer (including our very own MCC Horizons Summer Program) and mentoring programs, provided 33,000 people in need with the basics of food, clothing and shelter, and gave 13,000 elders and their caregivers the resources they need to remain vital and independent.

Our campaign begins with a kick-off events on Monday March 6, 12-12:50pm in the Flynn Campus Center Atrium and Wednesday, March 8, 12-12:50pm at the Damon City Campus.  Please join us for food, the annual "change blitz,” and prizes!  Enlist your best fundraisers to compete in the annual change blitz on March 6 and 8. The person who raises the most change in a half-hour blitz will receive a United Way T-shirt!  All funds raised will go towards MCC’s donation to the United Way’s Community Fund. The Community Fund is the largest pool of financial gifts collected through the annual fundraising campaign and helps solve our community's most critical health and human service needs.
