College Update on COVID-19 Testing Efforts & Cases

Out of the 1,240 pooled tests MCC conducted last week, three positive cases of COVID-19 were identified. Test results are now directly emailed to students and employees who participate pooled testing. Results are also available in the SUNY Upstate Medical site.

Currently:

  • No students are isolating on campus.
  • 4 students are isolating off campus.
  • 7 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus.
  • 24 students are in precautionary quarantine off campus.

MCC Testing Stats to Date:

  • 20,944 completed COVID-19 pooled tests
  • 38 total cases identified among students and employees through pooled testing.
  • 0.18% positivity rate.

Today, a mandatory pooled (saliva) testing session will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus. No appointment necessary.  

MCC adheres to state and county guidelines and requires mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing, respiratory etiquette, and daily health self-assessments on campus. Please check the SUNY COVID-19 Case Tracker for the latest information.
