Dr. David Barnet Appointed Associate Vice President, Curriculum and Program Development
I am very pleased to announce that Dr. David Barnet's appointment as Associate Vice President, Curriculum and Program Development, was approved by the MCC Board of Trustees on August 13, 2018.
David holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University. He also earned an M.A. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins and a B.S. in Political Science from Reed College.
David brings substantial experience in academic planning, program development, and college-level teaching from previous institutions that will be an asset to the College. He is joining us from the University of Michigan - Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute where he has recently served as the Director of the Liberal Arts Division and Teaching Professor. Previously, he served as Director of Academic Planning and as Director of Educational Partnerships at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. At John Jay College, David served as a consultant to CUNY in the New Community College Initiative that resulted in the formation of CUNY's first new undergraduate institution in decades. David also served as the Director of Academic Programs at SUNY Purchase, and as the Assistant Director of Academic Programs in the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College, CUNY.
