Teaching & Creativity Center Conversation: March 15, 21, 22

The Teaching & Creativity Center’s theme for the 2011-12 year is “Strategies for Teaching Today’s Students.”

Spring Conversation #2: Universal Design for Learning

Discussion facilitator: Eileen Radigan, Coordinator of the TPSID Program (Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities)

Join your colleagues in discussing the application of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) concepts to instructional planning! We will highlight the foundational concepts of UDL and discuss how we can and do present multiple means for representing content, multiple modes for engaging with the content, and multiple methods for assessing students’ understandings. Participants will leave with some concrete materials and strategies for extending what they are already doing in the college classroom to reach and engage more students.

This session will be repeated as follows:

Thursday, March 15; 3pm; DCC Room 5270
Wednesday, March 21; 12pm; Room 12-201 (the new TCC at Brighton)
Thursday, March 22; 3:30pm; Room 12-201 (the new TCC at Brighton)
