Water for Sudan Reception Today

Student leaders of the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project will present Water for Sudan CEO Salva Dut, an MCC alumnus, with a check for over $4,000 towards his organization's efforts to build fresh water wells in Sudan. The college community is invited to a special reception today, Aug. 16 at 1 pm in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B) to celebrate this achievement.

During 2005-2006, MCC student leaders raised money by selling stones through the Water from a Stone for Sudan effort. The stones represent the victims of the Rwandan Genocide. By remembering lives taken in Rwanda, supporters also help to save lives in Sudan. Members of the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project won the Student Organization Award for Fundraising at the annual MCC Student Aards Banquet in May for this effort.

Please attend the reception to congratulate the student leaders and learn more about this effort.
