Xerox’s Anne Mulcahy Announces $1.75 Million Gift to MCC Foundation

At the Monroe Community College Foundation’s 17th annual Salute to Excellence on December 13, honoree Anne Mulcahy, chairman and CEO, Xerox Corporation, had a special award of her own to bestow. During her acceptance speech, Mulcahy announced a gift of $1.75 million from Xerox Foundation to MCC, payable over the next five years.

Mulcahy told the over 600 attendees that, “Monroe Community College is a treasure to this community, it’s one of the crown jewels of Monroe County and New York, and under the extraordinary leadership of Tom Flynn, MCC has become nationally recognized in the community college movement. We are fortunate that MCC is a great community college that continues to transform itself; we consider this grant not a gift, not a donation, but an investment in our collective future. Xerox is so proud to be a small part of your extraordinary success,” said Mulcahy.

The Salute to Excellence dinner celebrates and recognizes outstanding company and individual philanthropists, alumni and volunteers who have contributed to MCC. The event raises funds to support student scholarships and faculty excellence while celebrating the positive social and economic impact MCC continues to have on its community.

President Flynn said, “The gift announcement from Xerox Foundation was an unexpected highlight in an evening celebrating philanthropy in our community. What better time to pay tribute to our good and lasting friends at Xerox; we are delighted with our continuing partnership. Literally since Monroe Community College first opened its doors, Xerox has been one of our staunchest supporters and has helped us steer a critical course. Xerox’s gift will support the Monroe Community College Foundation as it continues to provide scholarship assistance, faculty enrichment programs, funding for educational equipment, seed money for innovative programs and support that assures MCC maintains its margin of excellence.”
