Interim President Larry W. Tyree will be joined by Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, Congressman Eric Massa and Veterans Outreach Center President and CEO Thomas Cray when the establishment of the Academy for Veterans’ Success is announced this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Just beyond the September 11th Remembrance Walk inside the PAC Center lobby.
According to a 2008 study done by the Center for Governmental Research, veterans and their families are often unaware of what they need, where to get help and how to access services. This announcement will provide the details of a multi-faceted solution which MCC, in collaboration with regional veterans’ organizations, has established to address a wide range of deployment and reintegration issues. The Academy for Veterans' Success, a resource for veterans and their families, will be a regional center serving western and central New York.
