Today, Sept. 3: Last Day for Students to Apply for a COVID-19 Vaccination Exemption

On August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals age 16 years and older.

As a result, and in order to protect students' and employees' health and safety, students who plan to engage in person (e.g., in-person classes, activities and services) across all SUNY campuses, including MCC, are required to verify their vaccination or have received a qualified medical or religious exemption by September 27, 2021.

Student Exemption Applications must be submitted by today, September 3
To apply for a medical exemption, Please print out the form so that your licensed medical provider (physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner) can sign it prior to emailing it to MCC Health Services (healthsvc@monroecc.edu).

  • Students who hold genuine and sincere religious beliefs that are contrary to COVID-19 vaccination may apply for a religious exemption. Religious exemption requests based on political or moral reasons will not be approved. Send your completed application form to Dr. Calvin Gantt, cgantt@monroecc.edu.

Students who are denied an exemption will need to verify vaccination in order to participate in in-person classes, services and activities.

Students Must Verify Vaccination Before September 27
Upload an image/screenshot of your vaccine card to the MCC Student Health Services Portal by September 27. The image should display one of the following:

  1. the first and second doses of the PfizerNBiotech or Moderna vaccine
  2. the Johnson & Johnson single shot dose

Images of the Excelsior Pass uploaded to the portal are not acceptable. Contact the Health Services Office via phone 585-292-2018 or email Health Services for more information.

After September 27, students who do not verify that they are vaccinated or do not receive an approved official exemption from MCC Health Services will be withdrawn from all in-person classes, will not receive a refund of tuition or fees, and will receive a “W” for each course. This may affect financial aid eligibility.
