MCC Daily Tribune

Learning in person this Spring? Here's what you need to know.

Dear Faculty and Staff,
For your information, the following guidance appears in today's
Student Tribune and will be shared with students.

Thank you for including MCC in your educational journey. Our faculty and staff look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the spring semester. The following guide will help you start the semester off safely. If you have any questions, please visit our website or contact us at covid19response@monroecc.edu.

If you are a:

  1. Student who plans to come to MCC’s Applied Technologies Center, Brighton Campus and/or Downtown Campus for any reason, including for in-person classes and to use services, during the spring semester, you are required to:
    • Complete a daily COVID-19 Self-Assessment a minimum of 14 days prior to coming to campus. After the semester starts, you are required to complete the self-assessment each day you come to campus.
    • Submit an attestation that you completed a 7-day quarantine or request an exemption if you work or are a health professions student designated as an “essential worker.” The attestation will be included in the COVID-19 Self-Assessment at the start of the spring semester.
    • Participate in mandatory MCC COVID-19 pooled (saliva) testing on Jan. 25 or Jan. 26 or submit a negative test result to studentrights@monroecc.edu by Jan. 29. If your course or lab does not meet in person until mid-February or March, you can begin participating in pooled testing closer to the course or lab start date. Upcoming testing sessions are posted on the website .
    • If you choose to test with an off-campus provider, including the NYS drive-through testing site on the Brighton Campus, send your results to studentrights@monroecc.edu upon receipt.

    • Continue to show proof of a negative test result (MCC pooled testing or another provider) on a weekly basis. Please note: This requirement recently changed from biweekly to weekly.
  2. Student taking courses online or remotely and do not foresee coming to campus for any reason during the spring semester, you are not required to submit a daily COVID-19 Self-Assessment and attestation that you have quarantined. You also do not need to participate in COVID-19 pooled testing.

Links to a variety of student resources are listed on our website. If you need help, please reach out. MCC is here for you!
