Student Email Update

Configuration changes at Microsoft have created some issues with the delivery of student email.    We believe this incident began after the Thanksgiving break.  As a result:

·         Some email from faculty and staff to students was not delivered

·         Some email was delivered, but showed up in the student’s Junk Mail folder

·         Some email was delivered as expected

NOT AFFECTED:

·         Email from students TO faculty and staff

·         SLN email

Working with ETS, Microsoft made changes at 1:30 pm on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 --
please note that this date was incorrect in yesterday's email broadcast -- to allow ALL MCC mail to be correctly delivered to students' Inboxes.  Microsoft has also assured MCC that Microsoft will make no further changes until after Dec. 26, 2008 to ensure the dependability of the student email system.

As a reminder, there is currently a 100 recipient limit when sending to students.  If sending to multiple sections, be sure the total number of students does not exceed 100.  Send separate messages if your list exceeds 100 students.

As in the past, if on campus, you should send email to students via Outlook, Outlook Web Access (OWA) or Banner Self Service (email class button).  If sending email to students from off campus, ONLY use Outlook Web Access (OWA).

If you have any questions, please contact the ETS HELP line x4357.
