College community invited to hear Renaissance Square design architect Moshe Safdie

The latest designs for the $230 million Renaissance Square project—including the first designs for the performing arts segment—will be unveiled Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clarion Riverside Hotel.

Design architect Moshe Safdie will make a presentation, which will be followed by a public workshop—the fifth so far—from 7:30 to 9 p.m.  Members of the public and the college community are invited to see how the project design is progressing.

Some $194 million has been secured for the project, which would include a performing arts center, a transit center and a downtown campus for Monroe Community College.

The DCC campus at Renaissance Square will provide 212,000 square feet of newly constructed and renovated space. The new campus will be configured with “smart” classrooms, well-designed labs, wireless learning areas, and student and administrative support services.
