Canada Geese Study

The study on the local movements of resident Canada geese, which was started last summer, is being continued this year.  This study is conducted through Cornell University in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Town of Brighton.  On Tuesday, June 24, 2003, on the Brighton Campus, Canada geese will be fitted with aluminum leg bands, and radio transmitters will be placed on a sample of adult geese so their movements can be monitored throughout the summer and fall.  This study will contribute to a better understanding of resident Canada goose populations and behaviors.
