Register by March 8 for "STEM: Preparing Our Nation's Future Innovators"

The second Essential Discussions: Conversations at Monroe Community College, will be held on Monday, March 18, from 8:30 am to 2:45 pm, at the Brighton Campus (Theatre and Warshof Conference Center,  R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center). The event will also be streamed to the Damon City Campus Community Room (room 4193). All participants – at either campus – are asked to register online by Friday, March 8.

The topic of discussion will be STEM: Preparing our Nation’s Future Innovators.  This event foregrounds the role that STEM education and career pathways play in our nation’s economic recovery and leadership in the global marketplace.

The one-day colloquium will feature Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, III,  President, University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus; Dr. David R. Brown, Program Director in the Division of Undergraduate Education at the National Science Foundation; and response panels with some of the field’s leading educators and local business leaders.

We anticipate an engaging and enlightening conversation and encourage you to attend. Faculty are welcome to bring their students to the morning session as well.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. To register and learn more about the presenters and schedule for this event, please visit MCC’s Website at www.monroecc.edu/go/colloquia.
