Babitz and Pastorella Contribute to Fundraising Journal

MCC Foundation President Brenda Babitz and Director of Alumni Giving Mark Pastorella each contributed articles to the recently published “Successful Approaches to Fundraising and Development" journal produced by Wiley InterScience. in cooperation with the League for Innovation in the Community College. The journal is one of a series focusing on New Directions for Community Colleges.

In her article, Babitz introduced “Strategies for Leveraging a Community College Foundation” and explained how foundations can achieve success by developing an expanded platform for philanthropic growth. Information from “Building on Your Foundation,” written by Babitz in 2001 for the League’s Leadership Abstracts publication, was also referenced by Mark David Milleron, president and CEO of the League, in the “Editor’s Notes” section of the journal.

Pastorella’s article, entitled “Keeping in Touch: Alumni Development in Community Colleges” encouraged other community colleges to cultivate, engage and retain its alumni in order to contribute towards the financial health of their respective colleges.
