WXXI Spotlights MCC's Role in Training Students

WXXI’s Peter Iglinski interviewed Dean Dianna Phillips and two MCC students for his Monday evening report on growing tech jobs in the area.

Dean Phillips spoke about the skills required for skilled-trades jobs, the college’s changing curricula to meet employers’ needs, the high number of people seeking to enroll in MCC’s skilled-trades programs, and the area’s job outlook.

The two students who were interviewed are Ken Wanek in the HVAC/R program and Deborah Mitchum in information technology. They talked about why they are studying in their respective fields.
