Creative Arts Announces Week-Long Forum Called "Careers in the Arts"


The Creative Arts Committee is sponsoring a week-long forum, "Careers in the Arts," for students interested in pursuing careers as writers.

On Monday, March 31, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Flynn Campus Center Brighton Room (3-217), there will be a How-To-Publish panel for children's book writers and illustrators, followed by individual portfolio review. On Tuesday, April 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Brighton Room, there will be a How-To-Publish panel for fiction writers, followed by individual manuscript feedback. On Wednesday, April 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Brighton Room, there will be a How-To-Publish panel for poets, followed by individual manuscript feedback; that evening at 7 p.m. there will be a student poetry slam in the Forum with cash prizes. On Thursday, April 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Brighton Room, there will be a How-To-Publish panel for non-fiction writers, followed by individual manuscript feedback. Finally, on Friday, April 4, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Warshof Conference Center (Monroe B), there will be a How-To-Get-Produced panel for playwrights, followed by a question/answer session; and later that afternoon, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Monroe B, there will be a script-writing workshop.
