Law and Criminal Justice Department Holds Scholarship Ceremony and Plaque Unveiling


The Law and Criminal Justice Department held their Spring 2014 scholarship ceremony on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Damon City Campus. Prior to the scholarship award presentation the Law and Criminal Justice Department, in partnership with the MCC Foundation, unveiled plaques commemorating three fallen law enforcement officers who have memorial scholarships named in their honor at Monroe Community College. They are: Deputy Galen Herren’89, Trooper Andrew “AJ” Sperr ’94, and Sergeant Robert M. Skelton, Jr. The scholarships will continue to provide inspiration and support to MCC students while honoring the legacy of these outstanding officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and in service to their communities. The plaques will be hung in the Law and Criminal Justice Department 4th floor on the Damon City Campus.
