Death and Dying Student, Ryan Brooks, Goes Above and Beyond

Ryan Brooks is a student in Professor Delia Rhodes’ Death and Dying course.  Students are offered the Service-Learning opportunity to be of assistance at local hospices.  Ryan chose to complete his Service-Learning hours at the American Cancer Society B.Thomas Golisano Hope Lodge Hospitality House.  The project only requires students to work with patients for ten hours.  Ryan worked at the Hope Lodge for over 100 hours!  When asked about his Service-Learning experience, Ryan stated, “It was a great learning experience to be able to go and really talk to the clients there.  The biggest impact I got out of the experience was that I was able to go there and help people in need.  I feel I made a big difference with the people I worked with.”  Congratulations to Ryan!
