We are pleased to report that MCC Foundation Director Jim Ward has agreed to serve as chair of Building on Success: The Campaign for Monroe Community College, to complete the task Gil Hatch began in 2000. Jim, who headed our major gifts division earlier in the campaign after successfully completing two terms as Foundation Chair, worked closely with Gil and shared his commitment and drive. We know he can keep us on target to achieve our $10 million goal by year's end.
Gil Hatch was a champion of education in our community and we benefited from his leadership and work on behalf of MCC. During one of the most challenging periods of economic unrest in this country, he remained convinced that access to education was the key to our region's--and our country's--future. We are fortunate that Jim shares this passion and has committed to leave the legacy we promised for the students of tomorrow.
