Professional Development Opportunities – 3D Printing, and Using Video Clips!

MCC Faculty, Staff and Administration are invited to the following Brown Bag Lunch Sessions sponsored by Educational Technology Services. No registration is required – just show up!

3D PRINTER DEMONSTRATION
MONDAY, MARCH 3, ROOM 7-101, 12:00-12:50PM
Come and see the MCC Engineering, Science and Physics Department’s new 3D printer. The Dimension bst 1200 prints 3D models directly from CatalystEX 3D software. The models printed are made of durable ABS plastic that can be sanded, milled, drilled, and painted. John Wadach and Kevin Soule will demonstrate the computer/printer system and show you a model in the making.

USING VIDEO CLIPS IN YOUR POWERPOINT
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5, ROOM 11-109, 12:00-12:50PM
So you have that perfect video clip to teach an idea to your students, and you’d like to play it within your PowerPoint presentation? We’ll guide you through the steps! Along the way we’ll discuss issues such as how do you get the video into your computer in the first place, what file formats work best, copyright issues, and can you use a clip from YouTube. Facilitated by Jeremy Case of the Instructional Technologies department.
