Perkins Internal Process Change

Due to the uncertainty of program requirements for Perkins 2015-16 at both the Federal and State levels, the process for requesting Perkins funds is going to change. Written proposals will not be developed through the practice that has been in place for the last several years. Instead, needs or innovative approaches for Career and Technical (AAS Degree) programs that support retention, completion, and/or serve students in careers that are non-traditional to their gender should be discussed with your department chair, dean and vice president. The vice presidents will then discuss and select projects to be developed by the project director and grants coordinator for the 2015-16 funding year.  The target for completion of the selection process is February 2015 so you should begin your discussions early. The Strategic Resource Development and Grant Management department is available for any questions or clarification needed. This change was recommended to respect the time faculty and staff devote to development of projects that may not fit in the new Perkins regulations.

Strategic Planning and MCC Foundation funding requests process will remain the same and the announcement of workshops dates will be publicized in the next few days.
