Celtic Society Invites You to Screen WARRIOR QUEEN

Please join MCC’s Celtic Society for a screening and discussion of WARRIOR QUEEN on Monday, 10 December at 6 p.m. in room 12-229. The event is free and refreshments will be served.

According to MASTERPIECE THEATRE, which initially aired the film in the fall of 2003, “In the first century A.D. when Rome ruled the known world, an upstart female warrior in the far-flung province of Britain led a revolt that shook the foundations of the empire.” That warrior’s name was Boudica (played by Alex Kingston, well known to US audiences as Dr. Elizabeth Corday in the long-running television series ER) who, following the death of her husband, led her Celtic tribe, the Iceni, against the Romans.

For more information, please contact Chieftain Jason Childers at <mailto:mcccelticsociety@gmail.com>.

Celtic Society’s purpose is to raise awareness of the Celtic Nations (Brittany, Cornwall, Galicia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, Wales) and diaspora. It aims to share and celebrate Celtic culture with the college community.

Celtic Society welcomes all students, faculty, and employees, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds.
