Robert Lasch Participates in Monroe 2 BOCES Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Program Coordinator Robert Lasch of the Precision Machining Program at the Applied Technologies Center was on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Monroe 2 BOCES Wednesday, November 16th to reveal new Haas CNC equipment. Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was a keynote speaker for the event.

Bob is a Monroe County Industrial Development Corporation (MCIDC) board member. In Bob’s role on the MCIDC board, he helped arrange for one of their meetings to be held at WEMOCO. As a result of that meeting, the board members took a tour of the facility and recognized that the existing equipment needed updating. Bob then worked diligently with the board to secure funding for two new state-of-the-art CNC machines and worked with NYMAT to arrange for the customization and ordering of the new equipment. Bob has been a main stakeholder in establishing dual enrollment between MCC and WEMOCO in Tooling and Machining courses. By creating such pathways, a student has multiple entry and exit points to start and prosper in a career in advanced manufacturing. Please help me thank and congratulate Bob Lasch for his efforts on this initiative.
