Go 'Red' with AAWCC and American Heart Association

The American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) invites the college community to participate in ”GO RED FOR WOMEN” to support the American Heart Association’s groundbreaking national movement that will help raise women’s awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower women to reduce their risk.

Did you know that every year since 1984 more women than men have died of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular disease?  To get more facts about Women and Heart Disease go to "https://www.americanheart.org/red" www.americanheart.org/red and click on the following features:

“Know Red” – this site is designated to “facts” about heart disease in women
“Act Red” – offers tips and lifestyle changes to prevent heart disease
“Share Red” – how you can share what you’ve learned with others

To be a part of this national awareness movement all you need to do is donate $5.00 and wear “RED” on National Wear Red Day for Women on Friday, February 4th.  The Damon City Campus has chosen to wear Red on Thursday, February 10.

Please make your checks out to AAWCC and forward them to Karen Frantz, Treasurer or one the following volunteers:
