Tell them about MCC's "College 101 for Parents."

How to Choose a College. When to Apply for Financial Aid. What  resources and programs are available to help. On Thursday, Oct. 19, 6 – 9 p.m., MCC presents an evening devoted to answering many of the nagging questions that often accompany a college search.

Admissions professionals from St. John Fisher College, SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport, MCC and Roberts Wesleyan College kick off the evening by providing an overview of each school, the application process, admissions requirements and a review of high school transcripts.

Parents and their students can pick from a variety of breakout sessions including: Financial Aid and Scholarships, How to Choose a College, How to Choose a Major, Transferring from a Community College to a Four-Year College, Students with Disabilities: Transition from High School to College, Selecting High School Courses: the Importance of Math B, Home School Students and the College Selection Process and College Athletic Recruitment.

“College 101 for Parents” will be held in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Brighton Campus. Parking is available in Lot M and M1 at the back of the campus. This event is free and open to the public. Please call 585.292.2231 to reserve seats.
