The Mask You Live In

Dialogues on Diversity Presents

THE MASK YOU LIVE IN

When:               Tuesday, April 12, 2016

Where:              Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B)

Time:                 2:00pm– 4:00pm

Research shows that compared to girls, boys in the United States are more likely to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, prescribed stimulant medications, fail out of school, binge drink, commit a violent crime and/or take their own lives.  Boys are two times more likely than girls to flunk or drop out of school and four times likely to be expelled.

THE MASK YOU LIVE IN follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity.  This is a must attend presentation and discussion for educators, any parents who have male children and for all of us who struggle with understanding cultural norms of male masculinity.

Please join us to see this research documentary presented by the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Non-Violence.  There will be a panel discussion and audience participation after the documentary.
