Spring Foreign Film Fest Held This Month


The ESOL and Foreign Languages Department invites the College community to this year's Spring Foreign Film Fest, which will take place from April 22nd to May 6th.

PROGRAM

Thursday, April 22
"The Station" Drama in Italian, 1990, set in an Italian railroad station.
Introduced by Professor of Italian Teresa Murano.

"The Son of the Bride" Drama in Spanish, 2001, set in Argentina.
Introduced by Professor of Spanish and MCC alumnus Fernando Páez.

Thursday, April 29
"Run Lola Run" Drama in German, 1999, about a German young woman who tries to save her boyfriend’s life.
Introduced by Professor of German John Ganze.

"The Color of Paradise" Drama in Farsi, 2000, about a blind Iranian boy.
Introduced by Professor of Sociology and Anthropology Shahin Monshipour

Thursday, May 6
"Inch’Allah Dimanche" Drama in Arabic and French, 2001, about an Algerian family that emigrates to France in the 1970s.

Introduced by Professor of French Louis Silvers

"Sango Malo" Drama in French, 1991, set in a small village of Cameroon in Africa.
Introduced by MCC Student and Pan-African Club officer Edwin Ngoti

All events will begin in Room 8-200 of the Brighton Campus. Arrive at 6:00 p.m. to mingle and enjoy some ethnic nibbles and food sampling. The films will be

introduced at 6:30 p.m. Two films will be shown concurrently on each of the specified dates. All films have English subtitles. The Foreign Film Fest is free and open to the public.
