GeoFest-RACSS Fall Conference 2011 "Celebrating OUR Communities"

The New York Geographic Alliance, the Department of Chemistry/Geosciences, and the Rochester Area Council for the Social Studies (RACSS) invites all members of the MCC Community to our all-day conference, GeoFest-RACSS 2011, here at Monroe Community College on Sat. October 22, 2011. The theme is Celebrating OUR Communities. It will feature workshops on geography, history, environmental science, government, and economics. A continental breakfast will be served in the Atrium. President Anne Kress will be there to welcome all our guests. Many teachers and future teachers from our sister schools will be in attendance. We want more MCC participation, so we are offering registration to all staff and students for the morning sessions for NO charge. You must register in advance for this special deal. Go to the New York Geographic Alliance website for more details. There is an amazing variety of workshop offerings, appropriate for all members of our MCC community.

For those who can stay longer, we are sponsoring a field trip to important sites in Rochester, which will include a neighborhood walk in the South Wedge. Lunch and bus transportation will be provided for $10. Advance registration is advised, especially if you wish to join the field trip. We are taking only one bus.

Please contact Tim McDonnell at 292-2398 if you have any questions.
