Democracy Wall and Town Hall Meeting: What Can I Do To Change My Social World?

The Democracy Commitment and Anthropology/History/Political Science/Sociology Department are co-sponsoring our annual Democracy Wall and first Town Hall meeting at the Damon City Campus.  The question for the Democracy Wall this year is, “What can I do to change my social world”?  Sociology students will be at a table on the 4th floor with cards for students to record their thoughts.  The cards will be taped on the wall for all to read, discuss, and reflect upon.  The cards will be available from 9 am - 3 pm on Monday, April 29th, Tuesday, April 30th, and from 9 am - noon on May 1st.

This event will conclude with a Town Hall meeting on May 1st in the 4th floor lounge during college hour.  This is a forum open to everyone in the MCC community to voice opinions and ask questions of community leader, public figures, elected officials and political candidates.  Join us as Professor Dina Giovanelli and Colin O’Malley from Metro Justice lead a Town Hall discussion about the question, “What can I do to change my social world”? and offer community engagement opportunities in the city of Rochester.
