In Honor of MCC's 50th Birthday!


* Appointed an MCC trustee in 1961 by New York Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller, Alice Holloway Young, Ed.D. helped establish Monroe Community College and served as chair of the MCC Board of Trustees for 20 consecutive years (1978 to 1998). She is the longest serving community college trustee in the SUNY system and remains active as a founding trustee and board chair emerita.

* Students taking Anthropology 205 participate in an ongoing archeological excavation of the “Bittner Farm,” a farmstead dating back to the 1830s and located on the campus of Monroe Community College.

* In 2011, the LeRoy V. Good Library was named “Academic Library of the Year” by the Rochester Regional Library Council.
