To celebrate National Law Day this past Monday, MCC’s Criminal Justice Department at Damon City Campus invited Brian A. Stiglmeier, Serial/Records and Briefs Libraria,n to present on the workings of the Supreme Court. Brian led participants through a pictorial tour of the Supreme Court building which opened in 1935, pointing out various architectural details and their meanings relevant to the law. Court procedures, schedules, and processes were explained interspersed with trivia and personal stories about interactions with many of the Supreme Court Justices. Brian stressed the importance of law research, his journey through 20 years of service, and explained the resources available to the public on the Supreme Courts website at https://www.supremecourt.gov. Department Chair Gary Thompson, Professor Elizabeth Clifford, Department Secretary Phyllis Schirano, the CRJ Club and the Paralegal Club organized this event.
