MCC mourns the loss of Edward R. Vesneske, who retired from MCC’s Business Administration Department in 2002 after 34 years of service. Mr. Vesneske died on January 3, 2022. His family plans to host a memorial service later this year.

After serving as a business instructor in the Albany Public Schools and as a district coordinator for distributive education for the Greece Central School District, Mr. Vesneske joined MCC in 1968 as an assistant professor of business administration. He taught accounting, business and marketing courses. He was known for applying business concepts to real world examples and hosting weekend review classes for students prior to tests and final exams.

In 1978, Mr. Vesneske was promoted to associate professor. His many contributions to MCC expanding MCC’s Cooperative Education programs and launching our Walk Disney World College program to benefit students. He also advised MCC’s DECA Club.

From representing his Business Administration colleagues at orientation days to connecting current students to members of the Greater Rochester Metro Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Vesneske's efforts supported student recruitment and retention. He also supported MCC’s efforts to recruit and retain adjunct faculty.

A dedicated community volunteer, Mr. Vesneske cared about Rochester’s economic future and participated in efforts to build Rochester’s skilled labor force. He contributed to the success of many local initiatives, including serving on the City of Rochester Economic Vitality Team and City of Rochester Department of Community Development committees.

MCC is grateful for Mr. Vesneske’s leadership and service to our college and community. Our hearts go out to his family and friends who miss him dearly.
