Clarke to Participate in International Conference

MCC Professor Charlie Clarke, psychology, presented "Japanese Concentration Camps, Civil Rights and the Racial State" at the 33rd annual Scholars' Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches Ethics After Auschwitz: The Legacy of the Holocaust 1933-2003. The conference, which draws international scholars, was held at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pa., March 1-4, 2003.

This year's conference explored the half-century since the end of World War II and examine the parallels between 1933 and 2003. Significant international developments, such as the Nuremberg Trials, the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the International Criminal Court will also be discussed.

In view of recent corporate events, conference organizers believe "it is imperative to evaluate the moral and ethical crisis in contemporary society."
