Jericho Brown is the recipient of the Whiting Writer’s Award and fellowships from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and the National Endowment of the Arts. His debut collection, Please (New Issues, 2008), won the American Book Award. His latest book, The New Testament (Copper Canyon, 2014), was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for Poetry, won the prestigious Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, and was named one of the best books of 2014 by Library Journal. His poems have appeared in The Nation, The New Republic, The New Yorker, and Best American Poetry. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Brown earned his PhD from the University of Houston, and MFA from the University of New Orleans.  He is currently an assistant professor in the creative writing program at Emory University.
