Call for Proposals - Innovations 2009


The League for Innovation in the Community College is accepting proposals to present at the Innovations 2009 conference, March 15-18, 2009, at Grand Sierra Resort, Reno-Tahoe, Nevada, hosted by the Foothill-De Anza Community College District.

It is important to note that you need to submit your presentation proposal to your divisional vice president for approval prior to sending it to the League.  Please submit your proposal to your vice president by Wednesday, September 5, 2008.  You will be notified of the proposal status in order that you may submit it to the League by the submission deadline of September 19.

Innovations 2009 is the premier event for professionals dedicated to improving organizational teaching and learning, and discovering new approaches for enhancing the community college experience.   The conference provides a tremendous forum for collaboration among academic experts and leading community college professionals, while granting participants exclusive access to the most inventive and thought-provoking programs from around the world.

Innovations 2009 provides opportunities for colleagues around the world to showcase their model programs, to share lessons learned, and to look to the future by experiencing a wide array of learning opportunities in the following Conference Streams: (1) Learning and Teaching, (2) Leadership and Organization, (3) Workforce Preparation and Development, (4) Student Services and Activities, (5) Basic Skills and Developmental Education, (6) Resource Development and Foundation Management, (7) Research, Assessment, and Accountability, and (8) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The 2009 conference will feature:

Engaging keynote speakers discussing critical issues facing community college educators
Forums, Special Sessions, Roundtable Discussions, and Poster Sessions
Learning Center Courses - three-hour and six-hour intensive workshops granting Certificates of Completion
24-Hour Gateway Email and Internet Lab
An extensive exhibition featuring educational products and services
The opportunity to exchange ideas with hundreds of colleagues during receptions and coffee and refreshment break
