Welcome Michael P. Farrell - Associate Director, Employee and Labor Relations, Human Resources

Please join the Human Resources department in welcoming Michael P. Farrell to the position of Associate Director, Employee and Labor Relations. 

Michael is an MCC graduate with nearly two decades of experience on both sides of the bargaining table.  For the past seven years, Michael worked for the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF).  He started as a Field Rep, then became Regional Director of Field Services in western New York, and was promoted to Statewide Director in 2016.  As Statewide Director, Michael oversaw all collective bargaining activities between the State of New York and its Professional, Scientific and Technical bargaining unit.  Michael also led recruitment and retention efforts for the department, including sourcing, interviewing and hiring professional staff and providing continuous performance evaluation, professional development and training opportunities.  PEF’s broad spectrum of represented professionals and their equally broad range of priorities afforded Michael with invaluable experience in building consensus among diverse and often divergent leaders, staff and stakeholders.

Michael received a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an AS Liberal Arts Honors from Monroe Community College.
