A trio of MCC student-athletes have been named Academic All-Americans by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Baseball player Mark Stuckless (Ottawa, Ont./A.Y. Jackson), softball player Alison Duff (Brockport, NY/Brockport) and golfer Dave Mon (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) earned the awards.
Stuckless, a two-time first team All-Region outfielder, helped lead the Tribunes to the Division II World Series in 2007. He graduated as MCC's all-time leader in hits and was a career .387 batter. A SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence winner, he earned Distinguished All-American honors.
Mon was one of MCC's top golfers in 2007. The sophomore played well in the regional tournament, including a season-best round of 76 during the tournament's first round. He also advanced to nationals. Mon earned Academic All-American honors.
Duff recently wrapped up one of the most successful two-year careers in MCC history. A two-time first team All-American, she helped lead the Tribunes to two consecutive national championships. This season she led the nation in home runs with 17, was second with 95 RBIs, and sixth with a .516 batting average.
