U-Pass Program Garners Media Coverage

MCC and Regional Transit Service held a joint news conference Aug. 24 to announce the new U-Pass program. U-Pass helps make it easier for MCC students to get to MCC, work, medical appointments, and other important places.

The response to the program from students and the local community has been positive. During week one, more than 900 students used RTS bus service, logging a total of over 4,800 trips. One community leader noted that "MCC walks the walk" when it comes to meeting the needs of its students.

Local TV stations, Spectrum News-Rochester, Rochester Business Journal and Brighton-Pittsford Post reported on the program. An article was also posted on the AACC 21st Century Center blog, which highlights promising practices at community colleges.

Our gratitude goes to MCC student Sean Bonham, SGA President Bernard Butler, and SEGA interim President Kimberly Statt for attending the media event and showing their support.
