Child Vision Awareness Month

This Child Vision Awareness Month in June, make it your mission to ensure no child around you is suffering from vision issues. This is necessary since children have no idea whether they can see clearly or not. In fact, if they have problems with their vision, they tend to accept their blurred version of the world, assuming it is reality. They can’t figure out why they can’t see the board from the back of the classroom, nor can they understand why they are unable to spot their friends during lunchtime. Yes, a weak vision can cause a child to suffer academically and socially. However, this June, you can make a difference. All you have to do is spread awareness for the cause.

HOW TO CELEBRATE CHILD VISION AWARENESS MONTH

  1. Take your child for an eye exam

To ensure your child has no vision issues, visit an eye specialist and have them conduct a vision test. Even if your child is unaware of the hindrance in their vision, the test will reveal it all.

  2. Ask the school to emphasize the importance of clear vision

Sometimes, children don’t want to wear glasses to avoid being bullied. Speak to the schools in your town and ask them to dedicate the month to spreading awareness among children and parents regarding the importance of clear vision.

  3. Donate to foundations that are helping children with weak vision

Donate to a foundation that focuses on raising money for children who can’t afford to improve their vision through surgeries.

5 FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EYESIGHT

  1. A better vision

Fish oil, vitamin A, and vitamin C improve eyesight.

  2. Tired eyes

Reading in dim light tires the eyes.

The eye muscles are the most active in the body.

  4. The length of the eye and eyesight

  5. Colors galore

10,000 million colors can be detected by the human eye.

WHY CHILD VISION AWARENESS MONTH IS IMPORTANT

  1. It raises awareness regarding eye health

The month talks about the different vision problems experienced by children, how to spot them, and how these issues can be treated.

  2. It brings vision weakness symptoms to the forefront

Your child might be suffering from a weak vision and you wouldn’t even know. During this month, the signs of vision weaknesses are highlighted.

  3. It talks about the social problems linked to vision issues

A child who can’t see properly suffers greatly since they are not able to understand why their vision is unclear. The month brings to light several of such social adjustment issues faced by children who have weak eyesight.
