MCC’s Homeland Security Management Institute is slated to receive approximately $30,000 in grant funding from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. This grant provides 100% federal reimbursement of eligible expenses incurred in connection with activities authorized by the program.
The award was based on a competitive point system used by the State to evaluate the grant application and past performance. According to HSMI Director John Perrone, the grant will be administered in conjunction with the Monroe County Office of Emergency Management and will support Citizen Emergency Response Teams (CERT) training, equipment and supplies.
In addition to the general citizenry, HSMI also intends to reach out to the “special populations” category to provide this valuable community education.
