Alexander Hall Adopts a Family

The staff and residents of Alexander Hall in the Alice Holloway Young Commons adopted a family for the holiday season.  The staff held a Jar Wars competition to raise money to provide gifts for the holiday season for a mother and her two young boys.

Residents from each floor participated in the competition by placing pennies and dollars in their own jars for positive points.  Residents then placed silver coins and $5s, $10s and $20s in the jars of other floors to give them negative points.  Residents could only participate during the staff duty hours in the evening.

The goal was to raise $100 to purchase the family the items on their wish list.  When the program concluded, the building had raised $148.  The first floor residents of Alexander Hall won the Jar Wars competition.  The staff presented the family with their gifts in hopes that they would have a wonderful holiday.

Congratulations to all of the residents and staff of Alexander Hall for participating in a program which positively impacted a Rochester family's holiday season.
