Unique volleyball match helps build camaraderie

On Saturday, March 19, WHEC highlighted how the Afghan Eagles came to MCC to play recreational volleyball in the segment "Unique volleyball match helps build camaraderie." According to the segment, "The Afghan Eagles are a group of translators and interpreters who provided their critical skills to U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Many of those translators are now living in Rochester."

Among the players, spectators and supporters a were veterans, student-veterans, international students, student-athletes and students in our Educational Opportunity Program. Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Rochester Mayor Malik Evans also stopped by to cheer on the Afghan evacuees. The game was hosted in partnership with Monroe County Veterans Services and CompeerCORPS.

Thanks to Aaron Bouyea (Athletics), Eric Wheeler (Veteran Services) and all those who made the Afghan Eagles feel welcomed at MCC.
