Greetings of Gratitude

Last week, Provost and Vice President of Academic Services Andrea Wade, Ph.D. offered members of the campus community the opportunity to recognize a colleague with a simple "thank you." The response was very positive, with nearly 50 submissions so far. The link is still open, so please submit your thank you here!

Today, join Academic Services in saying "Thank You" to the following colleagues:

Andrea Gilbert of Instructional Technologies was nominated because she "has worked tirelessly to help staff during this difficult transition. She has answered e-mails at all times of day, plus even talked on the phone when it became clear that I just wasn't "getting it." She has been an invaluable resource during these difficult times and is a major asset to her department and the college." And, Andrea was nominated because she "has worked tirelessly and patiently to help professors move their classes online. She was on the phone for almost an hour walking me through troubleshooting my Blackboard class and showing me how to create a Zoom meeting. I am grateful for her help."

Kim Nixon of Downtown Campus Student Services "[i]s a constant source of encouragement, kindness, and support, even in challenging times. During the uncertainty of last week, Kim Nixon worked tirelessly to get our DC Student Services staff prepared for working remotely. Kim was too busy focused on supporting our team, solving technology issues, and digging for answers to focus on her own stress during the uncertainty. Kim is the best kind of person to have on your team -- thank you for all you do, Kim!"

Cristina Rowley and Emily Miesch of the World Languages and Cultures Department were nominated because, "Cristina and Emily were so on top of things. They worked so hard to make sure that we got all the info that we needed."
