Inauguration of MCC President Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna: More Volunteers Welcomed

The inauguration of Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna as Monroe Community College’s sixth president offers you a wealth of opportunities to participate in the planning and execution of this historic celebration.

The inauguration ceremony (installation) will take place Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2022. The celebration coincides with the 60th anniversary of when MCC opened its doors for the first time to students at the Alexander Street Campus.

Thank you to those who volunteered to serve on a subcommittee! There is still time for others to volunteer.
Five subcommittees have been formed to help plan and carry out the many important details involved in staging the inauguration and welcoming special guests, leaders and supporters and friends from across the country and state who plan to attend. The five subcommittees and their leaders include:

  1. Communications Subcommittee
    Co-chairs: Jeremy Case, Instructional Technologies and Jaime Smith, Marketing, Web & Social Media
     
  2. Community Engagement and Service Subcommittee
    Co-chairs: Mark Pastorella and Essie Calhoun-McDavid (community volunteer), MCC Foundation
     
  3. Hospitality Subcommittee
    Co-chairs: Rebecca Griffin and Evelyn Lannak, Hospitality Management
     
  4. Installation Subcommittee  
    Co-chairs: Heather Chang and Kate Sweeney, Visual and Performing Arts 
     
  5. Logistics Subcommittee        
    Co-chairs: Yolanda Johnson and Tom Winslow, Campus Events

If you are interested in sharing your skills and enthusiasm as a member of a subcommittee, please send an email to 922@monroecc.edu, indicating your name, department, subcommittee(s) of interest, and days and hours you are usually available to meet.
