"Women to Women" Admissions Event Follow Up

The Admissions Office hosted their second “Women to Women” coffee and conversation event on Wednesday, October 26th from 6pm-7:30pm at the Brighton Campus.  This event was for prospective students who have not completed the enrollment process.  The presenters were Christine Casalinuovo-Adams (Interim Associate Vice-President of Enrollment Management), Joan Moorehead (Admissions Counselor), and Julie Slate (Admissions Counselor).   They were joined by our Provost, Dr. Andrea Wade, who provided great insight on returning to college as an adult student.

The focus of the event was coffee and conversation on school-life balance, career choices, paying for college, and more.  The group shared real life experiences of returning to college and discussed how prospective students can navigate the enrollment process and develop a plan to fit college into their lives.  It was an empowering event where both the moderators and the participants were inspired and excited about next steps.  The prospective students will be followed up with individual appointments with Joan and Julie.  Admissions will host this event again on Wednesday, May 17th.  This event is aimed at helping women identify their barriers and discovering the support system here at MCC to help them reach their goals.  The idea is to build each other up and we certainly feel that we were able to do that!
