"The Children's March" at DCC!

The Diversity and Community Studies Film and Lecture Series is excited to present the Academy Award-winning documentary "The Children’s March" on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 4:30pm in the Community Room (room 4193) on the Damon City Campus.

“’The Children’s March" tells the story of how the young people of Birmingham, Alabama braved fire hoses and police dogs in 1963 and brought segregation to its knees.  Their heroism complements discussions about the ability of today’s young people to be catalysts for positive social change”. George Payne, Peace and Justice Educator from the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, is our guest discussant.  As always, this series is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served as well.

Please see the attached flier for additional details and a list of on- and off-campus co-sponsors.  We hope to see you and/or your students there for this incredibly inspirational film event!
