A Million Thanks to our U.S. Military Men and Women

On behalf of MCC student and Resident Assistant (RA), Chelsea Adam, the Department of Housing & Residence Life would like to thank the MCC community for their support and participation in the "A Million Thanks" Program.  Chelsea organized the program on campus to collect thank you cards and letters for U.S. military men and women as a part of a service project by high school students in Orange, CA.  The students wanted to collect 2.6 million cards and letters in 2006 to symbolically represent every person serving in our armed forces (including reservists) receiving a written thank you from a grateful American for their service to our country.

Chelsea set an MCC goal of 100 cards to contribute to the effort.  Chelsea is pleased to announce that she has collected 223 cards and letters-more than double her goal for MCC's contribution!  She was able to collaborate with the following groups, organizations and programs to collect cards and letters: residents in the residence halls;  MCC community members at the Campus Center Winter Open House; and MCC community members and children at Spaghetti with Santa which was sponsored by Student Government Association (SGA) and CAB.
