MCC Engineers Capture 3rd Straight State Title

MCC Engineering Science students captured their third straight SUNY Two-Year Engineering Science Association Design Competition Championship on Saturday, April 30th at Finger Lakes Community College.  The MCC team led the 16-team field from start to finish and was the only team to score four perfect time trials.  The autonomous Sustainable Forester Robot that the team designed and fabricated was capable of harvesting red colored “trees” (3 inch dowel rods) while leaving the green “trees” in place.

The top scorers for MCC were Anthony Battaglia (Fairport), Gregory Borden (Greece), Michael J. Walsh (Webster), and Savion Washington (Greece). The team will now focus on preparing to defend their third consecutive national design title at the American Society for Engineering Education Design Competition to be held on June 27th in Vancouver, British Columbia.
