Universal Design: Five Steps to Make Your Course Accessible

Universal Design: Five Steps to Make Your Course Accessible is a seminar from this past summer.  It teaches participants to:

• Systematically evaluate courses to identify potential barriers to student learning

or demonstration of learning

• Identify two or three assumptions that could be barriers to learning

• Determine what kind of learners might be challenged by those assumptions

• Recognize three or four simple changes to make teaching more accessible

• Understand how to implement those changes for immediate improvement

The Teaching & Creativity Center  (TCC) is pleased to announce access to this seminar on Universal Design, via the following link, https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/tcc/UniversalDesign/, or by going to the Faculty Tab in MyMCC, then clicking on the workshop and materials in the Faculty Resources box.  Our campus license makes it possible for all campus personnel to view it anywhere there is an Internet connection, and it can be used by departments or committees for on-demand professional development

Thanks to Dr. McKinsey-Mabry, interim dean of Academic Affairs, for making it possible for us to offer this follow-up to a workshop offered by Eileen Radigan during our June 2013 Summer Teaching and Learning Conference.
