MCC softball player Lisa Santos, as well as the entire defense of the men's lacrosse team have been named the MCC Athletes of the Week.
Santos, a sophomore shortstop, batted .556 as the fourth-ranked Tribunes went a perfect 8-0 last week. She finished 15-for-27 at the plate, scored nine runs, and had 19 RBIs. Santos also had six doubles, a triple, and two home runs. For the season she is hitting .515 with six homers and 48 runs batted in.
The men's lacrosse team won three games last week to improve to 10-1 on the season. The defense was key, allowing just nine goals in the three games. Led by Eric Horeth, John Neri, Alex Gray, and Ian Nash, the MCC defense is giving up an average of just 4.9 goals per game on the season.
